Lutoslawski's Carols - Tradition re-revisited

With support from: PMS - Polish Educational Society in the UK, the University of Southampton and the UoS Centre for Music Education and Social Justice, Miko is commissioning and conducting a recording of a selection of Witold Lutoslawski's 20 Polish Carols.

The carols will be performed and recorded (in scaled-down arrangements by Avigayil Yacobi Padan and himself), featuring University of Southampton student and alumni musicians and a choir of children of the Polish diaspora from across the UK. They are hoping this will shed new light on the music through the use of an alternative vocal tradition, and encourage conversation about heritage, tradition and modern idioms in classical music.

definitive recording by Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Polish Radio Chorus and Antoni Wit

"Mikolaj (is) young and brimming with ideas, enthusiasm and charisma."
